Our office offers neuromodulators for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement. Neuromodulators are injections of a neurotoxin called botulinum. The most famous and original brand is called Botox. Other FDA-approved brands include Xeomin, Dysport, and Jeuveau. We use Jeuveau which is near identical to the original.
Jeuveau is the newest form of botulinum toxin that is most comparable to traditional Botox. It has the same molecular structure, is dosed similarly, and carries a similar duration of effect.
Generally, the treatment lasts ~3 months and can be repeated once the effects have started to wear off. Patients are often concerned that once you are treated, you have to keep doing it in order to maintain results. This is not entirely true.
