I only do a handful of procedures. For everything else, there's someone who does it better than I could. This is that list: the names I trust with the work I don't do.
What I do myself: chin, neck, jaw & ears. Nothing else.

Most surgeons will tell you they "specialize" in a long list of things. But you can't be a master of everything. The more honest question isn't what a surgeon does. It's what they won't do.
I do a short list: chin and neck, jaw, and ears. That's my whole world, and it's on purpose. Everything else, I send to someone who lives and breathes it.

In Complications, surgeon and writer Atul Gawande profiled a hospital that does nothing but hernia repairs. Their surgeons do that one operation hundreds of times a year. Focus isn't the limitation. It's the advantage.
It isn't extensive, and it isn't my friend group.

Location isn't the filter
Where someone practices didn't decide who made the list. I care about the work, not the zip code. I sometimes send patients to great surgeons in areas that aren't listed here, so if you're somewhere else, ask me.
Some great names are missing on purpose
I've left off a lot of the obvious names and the big social media personalities. Many are excellent surgeons. Most patients already know about them, so this list is for the people you might not find on your own.
